My Bodyworks is the product of people who are very passionate about what they do. Fitness & Wellbeing are a huge benefit to each and everyone of us, young and old, male and female.

We want to help people to help themselves, get fit, get healthy and get happy. The owner who is also the lead instructor and the personal trainers and fitness instructors are the best in their field, but more importantly they are personable and easy to deal with.

Grainne Sugrue

Qualified Fitness Instructor, Mat Pilates Instructor, Reformer Pilates Instructor, Sports Massage and Neuromuscular Therapist. She has been teaching Pilates in Cork city for the past 12 years after she qualified in the UK in the internationally recognised CYQ Level 3 Pilates Award. She also has trained with Joyce Gavin of the Progressive Pilates Academy and continues to advance her further education in Pilates and muscle injury rehabilitation.

Grainne has extensive experience working with athletes and sports enthusiasts as well as the not-so-sporty. Her sports massage and neuromuscular therapy training is through the National Training Centre in Dublin and she also holds a National Certificate in Trigger Point Dry Needling.

Her background in both Pilates and Muscle injuries allows her to make focused Pilates programs for her classes and for individuals with injuries. Her clients include GPs, physiotherapists & athletes from a range of sporting activities as well as the non-sporty and Seniors who suffer from a variety of muscle complaints.

She works with a number of high-profile companies including the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School and GlaxoSmithKline. She is currently devising and running hugely successful programmes in Rehabilitation Reformer Pilates with groups from Headway who all have physical injuries as well as acquired brain injuries. She is also qualified in Pre- and Post-Natal Exercise and runs classes in Pilates for Pregnancy.

Originally Grainne worked in International marketing in Dublin where she became very aware of back problems caused by stress and bad posture associated with extensive computer work. It was at this time that she discovered Pilates and its benefits. Since then she has never looked back. She has personal interests in fitness – especially cycling and has participated in a number of events including An Post Ring of Beara Rebel Tour, Ring of Kerry Cycle and a number of Triathlons and Toughathlons.
